Joining Our School

We are a small, family school with a 'Pupil Admission Number' of 10 pupils per year group. This allows us to provide high quality, personalised education for all of the children that we have in our school in ideal class sizes. We, all of the adults and children, work together very closely getting to know each other's personalities, abilities, interests and sense of humour - we make school fun and challenging for everyone. We aim to make their primary education at Lanercost School a positive memorable experience.

We invite you to come along for a visit to see this for yourself. Please contact the school office to arrange an appointment at any time of year.

To apply for a place at our school, please complete the relevant age form and return it to school, preferably before the closing date to secure your place.

Nursery Admissions

We have three entry points for Nursery children: September, January and April.

At Lanercost C of E School, we accept children the term after they turn three e.g. If your child is 3 in the November, they will be eligible for a place in the January.

Once a place has been allocated a new application is not needed for each academic year. Children who start at a nursery in the January or April following their third birthday will automatically keep the place in the September.

Attendance at nursery does not, however, guarantee admission to the school's Reception class nor is it a factor which is taken into consideration in allocating places.
